  • Newly classified as 5-star by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association since January 24, 2024
  • Immanuel Hermreck: “The Parkhotel is and remains the top address in the heart of Gütersloh, and now also far beyond the city limits.”

Gütersloh, January 29, 2024 – The Parkhotel Gütersloh, which has been wholly owned by the international media, services and education company Bertelsmann since it opened its doors in 1983, has just been awarded a fifth star by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA). The Parkhotel previously had a four-star superior classification.

Immanuel Hermreck, Bertelsmann’s Chief HR Officer and responsible for the Parkhotel, says: “We are delighted and proud about this milestone in the more than 40-year history of the Parkhotel Gütersloh. The Parkhotel is and remains the top address in the heart of Gütersloh and now also far beyond the city limits. I congratulate Sönke Tuchel and his team – they are the heart and soul of the Parkhotel and the reason why so many domestic and international guests feel at home at the Parkhotel.”

Sönke Tuchel, Managing Director of Parkhotel Gütersloh, says: “We are thrilled to receive this award and would like to thank the German Hotel and Restaurant Association. For our team and for myself, the fifth star is both an award and an incentive. We want our hotel guests and visitors to continue to feel at home with us in the future, at the usual high level of service and at the same prices.”

Regine Tönsing, Managing Director of DEHOGA Ostwestfalen e.V., explains: “The Parkhotel Gütersloh has very deservedly received the five-star classification and is currently the only hotel in this category in the entire East Westphalia-Lippe region and within a radius of 100 kilometers. We are very proud that we can now offer a hotel of this outstanding quality in our region. Especially in the economically strong OWL region, it is important for us to show the diversity of our industry and to be able to meet all requirements.”

The German Hotel and Restaurant association awards its classification stars based on defined minimum requirements. As part of the five-star classification, the Parkhotel’s range of services was further expanded. The extended range of services now includes 24-hour room service, a turn-down service, parking service, and a guest relations team.

The Parkhotel continues to focus on partners in the region when working with service providers: for example, the fashion manufacturer Seidensticker from Bielefeld offers a last-minute shirt service, and the Bielefeld-based company Hunter offers an exclusive dog treatment. In addition, regional producers are given priority when purchasing food.
