TV Entertainer Stefan Raab Signs Exclusive Contract With RTL
RTL Deutschland and the popular TV entertainer Stefan Raab have agreed an exclusive five-year TV partnership. Raab and RTL made the announcement following the spectacular boxing match between Raab and former world champion Regina Halmich on Saturday evening. Raab’s new weekly primetime show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab” starts on RTL+ on Wednesday. Additional formats are planned as well.
He’s back! The spectacular boxing match between TV legend Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich aired by RTL on Saturday evening marked the long-awaited return of the popular entertainer to German television. 5.90 million viewers (market share: 25.8 percent) tuned in from 8:15 pm. In the young target groups, the boxing event attracted 40.9 percent of the 14- to 59-year-old viewer market (4.24 million viewers) and 52.9 percent of 14- to 49-year-olds (2.95 million viewers). This made “Der Clark Final Fight” the market leader by a wide margin in all three target groups on Saturday evening. The live spectacle from the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf was peppered with numerous surprises and show effects: Stefan Raab performed his song “Pa aufs Maul” together with rapper Sido and Ski Aggu. Performances by rocker Doro Pesch, fitness influencer Pamela Reif, who floated into the hall singing, and Helge Schneider with his cult hit “Katzeklo” rounded off the show experience.
And that was just the beginning. After the final bell and the points victory by former world boxing champion Halmich came the real sensation: the announcement that Stefan Raab has invented the first entertainment-quiz-competition show for RTL+. The new show marks the beginning of a collaboration between RTL and Stefan Raab that will span at least five years. Plans include various primetime shows developed by Raab Entertainment, for which the multitalented entertainer will be back in front of the camera at the end of the year.
The new weekly show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab” – “You’re not going to win the million from Stefan Raab” – starts on Wednesday on RTL+. The name says it all, as there is a fantastic prize of one million euros up for grabs – and of course Stefan Raab has no intention of letting it go easily. He presents the show and asks the quiz questions. He competes in duels against his challengers. Changing guest presenters keep an eye on the game rounds. The first of these is audience favorite Elton, whose own career began long ago as an intern on Raab’s TV show. In the first three shows, he will keep a close eye on his old/new boss’s unbridled ambitions.
“We’re making TV history: the number one on the number one,” says Inga Leschek, CCO of RTL Deutschland. “Stefan Raab’s boxing match against Regina Halmich was just the prelude to a much bigger mission: Stefan Raab’s return to the limelight! And he’s already doing so starting this week with a weekly format on RTL Deutschland’s leading streaming service RTL+ . We are very proud to have agreed a five-year collaboration with Stefan Raab, during which he will appear in front of the camera exclusively for RTL Deutschland. We are looking forward to unique entertainment from and with this exceptional creative genius. Welcome back! Welcome home, Stefan!”
“Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab” (#DGHNDMBSR) is a mixture of late-night comedy, pure entertainment and a brand-new quiz and competition show, presented and produced by Stefan Raab himself. The goal: to guard the million! Only candidates who answer all the questions correctly and prevail against the show legend in the exciting duels have the chance to win the prize money.
“Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab” is produced by Raab Entertainment on behalf of RTL+.
