Super RTL Expands Free-TV Offering With Nickelodeon Content
Super RTL is acquiring a rights package from Nickelodeon, the Paramount media group’s global entertainment brand, which will bring current and upcoming Nickelodeon series to Super RTL’s TV lineup. Super RTL also plans to take over Nickelodeon’s satellite frequency in order to establish a new linear children’s channel, which will show popular Nickelodeon series such as “PAW Patrol” and “Spongebob Squarepants.”
Super RTL, RTL Deutschland’s children’s entertainment provider in Germany, and Nickelodeon, the U.S. media group Paramount’s global children’s entertainment brand, have agreed the acquisition of a rights package. It will add current and upcoming Nickelodeon series to Super RTL’s TV lineup, according to a press release. Super RTL has also announced plans to take over Nickelodeon’s established satellite frequency for the development of a new linear children’s channel, which will mainly show popular Nickelodeon series, including “PAW Patrol,” “Spongebob Squarepants,” “The Loud House,” and more. The project is subject to antitrust approval by Germany’s Federal Cartel Office.

Popular characters to remain a fixture on free TV
