Sonopress And Warner Music Group Win Gold At 2025 Clio Awards

Sonopress and the Warner Music Group have been honored with a Clio Award in Gold for the sustainable production of Coldplay’s most recent album, “Moon Music”. Sonopress produced the album as an “Eco Record” on behalf of the Warner Music Group.

Sonopress and Warner Music Group (WMG) have been awarded the prestigious Clio Award in Gold for the production of the Coldplay album “Moon Music” as an “Eco Record.” The coveted industry awards honor creative excellence in advertising around the world. The Clios are awarded in the categories of sport, music, health and entertainment, with each area tailored to the specific challenges and successes of these sectors.

The high-caliber jury presented the award for the pioneering project “Making Coldplay’s new album Moon Music as sustainable as possible,” which was realized in close collaboration by Sonopress and the Warner Music Group. The goal of the project was to drastically reduce the ecological footprint of record production without compromising on quality and sound. The result: a 100-percent recyclable long-playing record that uses a sustainable manufacturing process and innovative recycled materials (PET).

‘A milestone on the journey to greater sustainability’

“It is simply fantastic that we have won Gold in this year’s Clio Award in the ‘Sustainability Music Marketing’ category,” said Sonopress Managing Director Deutschmann. “This great success is another important milestone on the journey to greater sustainability that we started early last year with our partner Warner Music Group and with the incredibly talented and dedicated members of the band Coldplay. Together we have worked hard to ensure that the environmental impact of the hit album Moon Music is significantly lower than that of conventional albums thanks to the use of Sonopress’ sustainable ‘Eco Record’ and ‘Eco CD’ products.”

Miriam Lessar, VP, Global Release Management, Warner Music International, added: “This award confirms our vision of combining sustainability and innovation in music production. We are proud to be able to make a real contribution to a more sustainable future in close cooperation with Sonopress. Working together on this project has shown us how great ideas become reality through strong partnerships. We are grateful that the Clio Awards jury has recognized this project.”

Coveted award

The Clio Awards, which have been presented since 1959, are among the most coveted international prizes in the creative industry and recognize work that stands out for its creativity, innovation and cultural relevance. Winning the Gold Award in the category “Music/Design & Sustainability/Innovation & Marketing” emphasizes the pioneering role that Sonopress and the Warner Music Group play in the development of sustainable solutions for the music industry.
