RTL Sends Jungle Legends Back Into The Bush
This summer, 13 former stars of the German edition of “I’m A Celebrity” – RTL is calling them “the craziest campers of all time” – are going to have another go at life in the jungle. They are embarking on another “jungle camp” adventure – this time in South Africa. “Ich bin ein Star – Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden” airs during primetime on RTL from August 16, and will be available in advance exclusively on RTL+.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the TV show “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!,” the German incarnation of “I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here” returns to RTL and RTL+ for a first-ever summer edition. In the 17-part special season of “Ich bin ein Star – Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden,” 13 former jungle stars, who according to RTL are “the craziest campers of all time,” want to have another go at life in the jungle. None of them won the jungle crown on their previous sojourns into the bush, so they are embarking on another “jungle camp” adventure – this time in South Africa. Of course, jungle doctor Dr. Bob will also be joining the legends in the wilderness. For the first time in the history of the hit show, a new episode will be shown exclusively on the RTL+ streaming platform every day in advance of the broadcast on RTL. From August 16, RTL will show “Ich bin ein Star – Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden” every day in primetime at 8:15 p.m., and RTL+ will start streaming the show from August 15.
These are the jungle legends RTL is sending back to the bush: Giulia Siegel (season 4, 2009), Sarah Knappik (season 5, 2011), Georgina Fleur (season 7, 2013), Winfried Glatzeder (season 8, 2014), Mola Adebisi (season 8, 2014), David Ortega (season 10, 2016), Thorsten Legat (season 10, 2016), Kader Loth (season 11, 2017), Hanka Rackwitz (season 11, 2017), Elena Miras (season 14, 2020), Daniela Büchner (season 14, 2020), Eric Stehfest (season 15, 2022) and Gigi Birofio (season 16, 2023). Who will once again hold their own in spectacular trials, survive emotional campfire moments, and show true greatness in dealing with annoying fellow campers? Which of these stars will become the legend among legends? And who will pocket the €100,000 in prize money at the end? “Ich bin ein Star – Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden” will be hosted by the veteran duo Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen.
