RTL+ Coming To Hungary
RTL Hungary has announced the launch of a subscription-based, ad-free streaming platform. It will be the largest Hungarian streaming platform, featuring several locally produced series and shows.
RTL Hungary will soon be launching RTL+, a subscription-based, ad-free streaming platform. According to the broadcasting group, it will be the largest Hungarian platform, featuring several locally produced series and shows. Twelve new formats are scheduled to debut on the platform over the next twelve months, ranging from drama series to documentaries and reality shows.
“Hungary doesn’t yet have a subscription platform where you can watch a variety of Hungarian reality shows, series, and documentaries, especially ones that are produced locally,” says RTL Hungary CEO Gabriella Vidus. “In addition, we are bringing in original RTL content that will be completely new for Hungarian viewers, as our German and Dutch sister companies have made it available exclusively on their streaming platforms to date.”
Three subscription models for RTL+
According to the announcement by RTL Hungary, RTL+ is an important milestone on the way to the unified visual world of RTL. On its 25th anniversary, the company had announced that it would adopt the new RTL brand identity of its parent company RTL Group and that several RTL channels and digital platforms would be renamed. RTL Hungary’s current digital video platforms, RTL Most and RTL Most+, will continue to be available to users, but in a different way. They will be integrated into RTL+ under the subscription packages “RTL+ Light” and “RTL+ Active.” In total, RTL+ will have three subscription models: a paid model, a TV subscription model, and a registration-based model. The previous linear television channel RTL+ is to be renamed RTL Három (RTL Three) from 28 October; it is also to be repositioned as a movie channel.Beyond the series and shows produced locally by RTL Hungary, RTL+ subscribers will have access to Hollywood films, internationally celebrated series, and exclusive productions. For example, the series “A Király” (“The King”) about the famous Hungarian singer Jimmy Zámbó, who died in 2001, will make its premiere on RTL+. In addition, new episodes of the popular Docuseries “On The Spot” will be shown exclusively for RTL+ viewers. And that is by no means all: The latest season of “Mocro Maffia”, an original format from the RTL Nederland streaming service Videoland, and “Faking Hitler,” the series produced by UFA Fiction for RTL+ in Germany, will also be shown on RTL+ in Hungary with Hungarian dubbing. Of course, as is the case with RTL Hungary’s digital video channels to date, viewers will also be able to re-watch all programs broadcast on RTL, such as “X-Factor,” on RTL+.
