Kylie Minogue Announces New Album And World Tour

If the name is anything to go by, BMG music star Kylie Minogue’s new album is set for a successful start: “Tension II” is the name of the album announced for October 18, following on from 2023’s “Tension.” And the artist is planning a world tour next year – her biggest since 2011.

Kylie Minogue’s 2023 album “Tension” achieved massive success worldwide, soaring to #1 in the charts in the U.K. and her home country of Australia, among others, and making the top 10 in numerous other countries. Now the Australian-British pop singer, who has been signed to BMG since 2017, has announced her next album: Entitled “Tension II,” it will be released on October 18 via BMG. The music star will also be performing live again: Minogue’s “Tension Tour” will take her to cities all over the world next year.

“The Tension era has been so special to me,” says the artist. “… I can’t possibly let it be over just yet! Welcome to Tension II.” The album is a collection of 13 songs, full of electronic sounds and dancefloor anthems. The nine brand-new studio tracks also include the latest dance hit “Edge of Saturday Night” with The Blessed Madonna, as well as collaborations with Orville Peck, Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo, and Sia. The lead single from “Tension II” is “Lights Camera Action”, which will be released this Friday, September 27.

Biggest tour since 2011

According to Kylie Minogue’s management, the “Tension Tour” announced for 2025 is set to be her biggest tour since 2011. It will open in Australia and then head to Asia and reach the U.K. in May. More countries and dates, including in Europe and North and South America, will be announced over the coming weeks.

Just this July, Kylie recorded the new single “My Oh My” together with songwriters Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo and released it via BMG – the track is also included on “Tension II.” This year has already seen Kylie take home the Global Icon Award at the BRITs, win the Best Pop Dance Recording Grammy for ‘Padam Padam’, complete her inaugural Las Vegas Residency, and release the song “Midnight Ride” with Orville Peck and Diplo. Over the course of her music career, Kylie Minogue has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, amassed five billion streams, and released nine British #1 albums. Her numerous awards include four Brit Awards, two Grammys, 18 ARIA Awards, and two MTV Awards. Kylie Minogue is the only artist to have had a #1 album and top 10 singles in the U.K. in five consecutive decades. Kylie Minogue is considered the most successful Australian singer of all time, and her song “I Should Be So Lucky” was even named an Australian “cultural asset” in 2011.
