Country Star Blake Shelton Releases His First Album With BMG
“For Recreational Use Only” will feature Gwen Stefani among others.
Country star Blake Shelton is releasing his 13th studio album on May 9: “For Recreational Use Only” is the first album Shelton is releasing with his new label home, the BBR Music Group, is one of the most successful country music labels in the U.S. – and part of BMG.
The first single from the album, “Texas,” has already entered the top ten of the U.S. country charts and is being celebrated by fans and the media alike. Shortly afterwards, the ballad “Let Him In Anyway” was released – a perfect introduction to the album. “‘Let Him In Anyway’ is one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever had the chance to record,” said Shelton. The artist released his last album three years ago – an unusually long break for him: “It’s been a long time since we had a new album out, and I want to thank the songwriters and musicians who helped bring this record to life. […] I have been working on this music for years, and I’m beyond excited to finally share it with the fans,” he continued.

“For Recreational Use Only” contains twelve new songs capturing life’s highs and lows “with authentic storytelling, raw emotion, and unforgettable melodies,” as BBR Music Group writes in its release. The album also features special guest appearances from U.S. singer and actress Gwen Stefani, country legend John Anderson, and Shelton’s longtime friend and tourmate Craig Morgan. Shelton is currently on the road with his sold-out “Friends & Heroes Tour” in the lead-up to the release of his new album.
Five of Shelton’s 12 albums to date have topped the Country charts, and two even made it to #1 in the regular U.S. charts.
