BMG Stars And Songwriters At The 2025 Grammys

BMG artists and songwriters were once again among the winners at this year's Grammy Awards. The world's most important music prizes were presented for the 67th time in Los Angeles last Sunday. BMG is proud and delighted that its artists and songwriters were among the recipients.

This year's Grammy Awards, held in Los Angeles last Sunday, was a memorable evening for Bertelsmann's music division BMG and its artists and songwriters who were either recipients of the world's foremost music award or enhanced the Grammy gala with their live performances and as presenters.

The awards ceremony kicked off with a star-studded tribute featuring BMG recording artist Scott Hoying performing BMG publishing client Paul Simon’s iconic song “Bridge over Troubled Water.” Following this, BMG recording artist Anoushka Shankar served as an awards presenter for several categories in Country, Blues, and Latin, while Jimmy Jam presented the R&B and Rap awards. BMG’s multi-award-winning songwriter John Legend helped open the televised show with a rousing rendition of “I Love L.A.” Lainey Wilson took to the stage as part of a moving all-star tribute to the music legend Quincy Jones, who died last November.

BMG clients contributed to the night's biggest wins, including BMG recording artist Mustard winning for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” in nearly every category including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. Chart-topping “Die with a Smile” BMG songwriter Bruno Mars – a multi-nominee on the evening – performed his version of “California Dreaming” in honor of the wildfires and first responders.

BMG artists and songwriters contributing to this year’s award wins included The Rolling Stones for “Hackney Diamonds” (Best Rock Album), with other awards going to “11:11 (Deluxe)” co-written by Eric Hudson (Best R&B Album); “No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin” by Meshell Ndegeocello (Best Alternative Jazz Album); “Mileage” by Ruthie Foster (Best Contemporary Blues Album); “Las letras ya no importan” co-written by Jean Rodriguez (Best Música Urbana Album); “Maestro” with music by Anne Leonard Bernstein (Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media), and John Legend’s version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” (Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella).
