BMG Songwriters Honored At Grands Prix Sacem 2024
The music of Victor Le Masne was heard around the world last summer as the official anthem of the Olympic Games in Paris. Now, BMG songwriter Le Masne was recognized with a Grand Prix Sacem in Paris along with numerous other songwriters in various genres. They also include the famous French artist Jeanne Added, who is co-published by BMG.
BMG songwriters were honored at this year’s Grands Prix Sacem in Paris. Victor Le Masne, whose music is distributed and managed through an agreement with the International Olympic Committee in collaboration with BMG in the UK, took home the coveted music award for “Event of the Year” for his composition “Parade”, which served as the official anthem for the 2024 Olympic Games. Jeanne Added, one of the greatest living French artists, live performers, and songwriters who has been co-published by BMG since 2013, was honored with the “Singer-songwriter Career Award”. At the ceremony, she performed her song “Au revoir”.
“Nurturing and promoting exceptional talent”
“Jeanne is now one of the most influential artists in the French music scene. We are thrilled to be part of her journey and proud to be by her side every step of the way,” said Jean-Valère Albertini, Director A&R at BMG France. Sylvain Gazaignes, Managing Director BMG France, commented: “The achievements of Victor and Jeanne underscore BMG's commitment to nurturing and promoting exceptional talent. Congratulations to both artists on this well-deserved recognition!”
The Grands Prix Sacem are the equivalent to the Ivor Novello Award in the UK and the BMI Awards in the US. Sacem stands for “Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique”. The awards honor outstanding artistic careers and pay tribute to the talents that shape musical creation in France in 20 different genres – from jazz to world music, from urban music to rock, from contemporary classical music to song, and from humor to audiovisual creation.
