BMG Named ‘Number One Active Rock’ Label For 2023 In The U.S.

Our colleagues at BMG in the U.S. have every reason to celebrate the annual analysis of the most-played songs on terrestrial and satellite radio: BMG is the new “Number One Active Rock” label in the U.S. airplay charts for 2023. And two labels from the BMG-owned BBR Music Group landed Top 10 slots in the Country charts.

The U.S. music industry service provider Mediabase has published its U.S. airplay charts for 2023. The report names BMG as the new “Number One Active Rock” label of the year. BBR Music Group, which belongs to BMG, is also prominently represented in the country label charts. A number of BMG stars contributed to this rise in the rankings, including Godsmack and Jelly Roll, who are both among the year’s top 10 most-played artists.

On the Active Rock year-end chart, BMG recording artists landed nine of the Top 50 most played singles including Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor” at No. 2, Staind’s “Lowest In Me” at No. 14, Nickelback’s “San Quentin” at No. 15, Godsmack’s “Surrender” at No. 17 and ‘Soul on Fire’ at No.21, Corey Taylor’s “Beyond” at No. 24, Mammoth WVH with “Another Celebration At The End Of The World” at No.29, and Bush’s “More Than Machines” at number 43 and “All Things Must Change” at No. 47.

Two BBR labels in the Top 10

On the Country label year-end chart, BBR Music Group imprints Broken Bow and Stoney Creek took over two spots, ranking as the No.3 and No.6 labels, respectively.
On the Top 50 year-end Country chart, BBR Music Group recording artists landed ten top singles including Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor” at No.8, Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like A Truck” at No.9, Parmalee’s “Girl In Mine” at No.14, Wilson’s “Wait in the Truck” at No.23, Jelly Roll’s “Son of a Sinner” at No.25, Dustin Lynch’s “Stars Like Confetti” at No.34, Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town” at No.37, Wilson”s “Watermelon Moonshine” at No.39, Aldean’s “That’s What Tequila Does” at No.41, and Jimmie Allen’s “Down Home” at No.49.
On the Big Picture year-end chart, Stoney Creek/BMG recording artist Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor” is ranked at No.27. In addition, BMG ranked as the No.9 R&B label fueled by Ledisi’s Billboard chart-topping hit single “I Need To Know” (No.15 year-end R&B chart) and Leela James’s “Right Back In It” (No.49 year-end R&B chart). BMG also ranked as the No.10 Hot AC label with Parmalee’s “Take My Name” at No.31 and Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor” at No.46 on the Hot AC year-end singles chart.
