Bertelsmann Donates 150 Laptops for Ukrainian Schools
- Support for the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-eastern Ukraine, on the initiative of North Rhine-Westphalia’s state government
- Bertelsmann donates computers worth €25,000
Bertelsmann Chairman & CEO Thomas Rabe says: “We are delighted to be able to support the state government in this important aid project. It provides helps where help is greatly needed. Dnipropetrovsk has taken in a great many internally displaced Ukrainians, and the students can only learn digitally or by hybrid means because of the great dangers that still exist as a result of the war in their country. The laptops will serve them well in this.”
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia entered into a regional partnership with the Ukrainian oblast of Dnipropetrovsk in February 2023. The region in south-eastern Ukraine is heavily affected by Russian attacks on civilian and military infrastructure. Against this backdrop, the primary concern of the state government is to meet the acute relief needs of the oblast and provide targeted humanitarian aid.
