Gütersloh, April 29, 2024 – Andreas Barth will take over as the new CEO of Arvato Group’s financial services subsidiary Riverty on June 1, 2024. He succeeds Jan Altersten, who is leaving the company in good terms. Barth has been with the international media, services and education company Bertelsmann since 2004 and is moving to Riverty from Arvato Group’s logistics business.
Carsten Coesfeld, Bertelsmann Executive Board member for Bertelsmann Investments and Financial Solutions, said: “I would like to thank Jan for his management achievements these past years. He successfully transformed Riverty and significantly expanded the “Payments” growth business. He strategically realigned our financial services business with considerable entrepreneurial skill and successfully implemented the rebranding of Arvato Financial Solutions into Riverty. We bid farewell to an international leadership personality and a valued colleague.”
Coesfeld continued: “Now is the right time for Riverty to take the next step in the company’s development under new management. Andreas Barth is a strategically experienced Bertelsmann executive who, together with his teams, has proven his entrepreneurial skills internationally time and again. With his strategic vision and strong customer focus, he will strengthen Riverty for the future and lead it to new growth. I look forward to working even more closely with him in his new role.”

Barth began his career at Arvato in 2004 as a Management Associate after studying economics at the University of Cologne. After holding successive management positions, he was appointed Managing Director and President in 2015. Since 2020, he has led the entire Tech division with more than 3,000 employees and business operations in Europe, the USA and Asia.
Jan Altersten became CEO of Arvato Financial Solutions (now Riverty) on January 1, 2021. He first joined Arvato Financial Solutions in 2013 as Chief Commercial Officer Nordics.
