100,000 Fans Watch BMG Star Jean-Michel Jarre
In mid-May, BMG artist Jean-Michel Jarre wowed more than 100,000 people in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, with an elaborate concert including a spectacular light show. The concert, which served to kick off the seventh “Starmus Festival,” featured Jarre’s music, a laser show, a 400-drone ballet, and fireworks. Thanks to a collaboration with RTL Germany, the concert was also broadcast in Germany.
In mid-May, Jean-Michel Jarre, the French electronic music pioneer and famous BMG star, kicked off the seventh “Starmus Festival” in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, with a spectacular light show. The show, which featured the largest stage ever built in Slovakia, attracted more than 100,000 spectators. They were treated to a futuristic performance by the artist, who is known for his record-breaking open-air shows. More than 100 people were involved in the elaborate production, which was designed by Jarre himself and used artificial intelligence.

Entitled “Bridge from the Future,” the concert offered a mesmerizing visual experience with synchronized architectural lighting, lasers, a 400-drone ballet, and fireworks, all set against the impressive backdrop of the iconic “Bridge of the Slovak National Uprising” (SNP Bridge). The audience was treated to 19 works from Jarre’s long musical career, as well as a new arrangement of Antonín Dvořák’s “New World Symphony” with special guest Sir Brian May, guitarist of the rock band Queen and co-organizer of the festival.
Thanks to a collaboration with RTL Germany, the concert was also broadcast and live-streamed on several channels, including well-known media brands such as RTL, Vox, Nitro, NTV and Stern.de, with the recording also available via the streaming service RTL+. There was considerable media coverage before and after the concert.
BMG has a close connection to Jarre, having acquired his entire music publishing catalog in 2022. The Bertelsmann music subsidiary represents classic albums such as “Oxygene” – which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026 – and “Equinoxe”.
