Super RTL Launches Christmas Campaign 'TOGGO Kinder helfen Kindern'

Subject: Society
Country: Germany
Category: Project

Christmas is still in the distant future, but boys and girls are already thinking about the gifts that they may find beneath the Christmas tree. For this year's holidays, Super RTL is offering children the possibility to try being Santa Clauses and to bring joy to other children. The Cologne family channel is calling upon them to collect toys as donations starting at the end of October; the packages will be distributed to financially disadvantaged families in time for Christmas Eve.

Alongside Super RTL presenter Nina Moghaddam, Florian Ambrosius, and Paddy Kroetz, "DSDS" winner Pietro Lombardi is also supporting the campaign as a patron. For "TOGGO Kinder helfen Kindern" ("TOGGO Children Help Children") he is contributing a Christmas song, which pop titan Dieter Bohlen especially composed for the campaign.

Super RTL's Managing Director Claude Schmit: "What's special about 'TOGGO Kinder helfen Kindern' is that young people can do something for their peers. Supporting families in socially disadvantaged situations is very important for us – we are hoping for a high level of participation in order to ensure a beautiful Christmas holiday to as many families as possible."

Children can submit their Christmas packages free of charge in all German and Austrian package shops of the cooperation partner GLS. From there, they will be forwarded, sorted, and distributed to institutions of the Bundesverband Deutsche Tafeln e.V. (National Association of Food Banks in Germany) with the support of the service company "Wir packen's an." Last year, more than 13,000 packages were collected through this campaign. In addition, Super RTL will donate one euro per Christmas package. The amount raised will also benefit the food banks.
