The Bertelsmann employee network “be.queer” has won the “Big Impact Initiative Award” of the “Prout at Work” foundation. As part of a cross-divisional film project and at the occasion of “Coming Out Day” on October 11, two videos were dedicated to the topic “Coming Out at the Workplace”.
The nomination itself was a special honor – but the Bertelsmann employee network “be.queer” also won the “Big Impact Initiative Award” of the “Prout at Work” foundation last Thursday in Stuttgart for its two videos. The award is presented to employee networks that “urgently and in an especially creative and sustained way” advocate equal opportunity for LGBTIQ employees within a company and in society.
The two videos were dedicated to the topic “Coming Out at the Workplace” as part of a cross-divisional film project and at the occasion of “Coming Out Day” on October 11. They raise awareness of the subject of sexual orientation and identity and demonstrate that Bertelsmann maintains a safe and supportive work environment for LGBTIQ employees. Among others, trainees of Super RTL, UFA Show & Factual and UFA Serial Drama were involved in the film project. The videos – one with a female protagonist and one with a male protagonist – were released on all of Bertelsmann’s German internal and external social media channels.
