America's Top Employer for Women in the Media Industry

Penguin Random House is the highest-ranked company in the media and advertising industry in “Forbes” magazine’s latest America’s Best Employers for Women list. The publishing group also achieved a good ranking in the Best Employers for Diversity list.

Penguin Random House U.S. was recently recognized by “Forbes” magazine as America's Best Midsize Employer.  Now “Forbes” has identified America’s Best Employers for Women – and the publishing group has every reason to be happy about its performance here, too: In this latest ranking, it is the best-rated company in the media and advertising industry, coming 58th out of a total of 300 companies from various industries.

Penguin Random House is also one of the Best Employers for Diversity, coming 64th out of a total of 250 companies.

Survey of 40,000 Americans

The new “Forbes” ranking of employers from the perspective of female employees is the first of its kind in the United States. In compiling the list, the renowned magazine worked with the market research institute Statista, which surveyed 40,000 Americans – including 25,000 women – who work for businesses with at least 1,000 employees.

The female respondents rated their employers on factors such as parental leave, discrimination and pay equity. They were also asked to nominate companies in industries outside their own. The final list ranks the 300 employers that received the best reviews and recommendations and are distinguished by having the greatest gender diversity in the company.
