Employees of UFA were busy collecting trash in Berlin and Cologne on Monday. Organized by the “UFA Green Team”, many employees collected trash from sections of the Spree River in Berlin and the Poller Wiesen riverside park in Cologne and made an active contribution to environmental protection and the implementation of UFA’s environmental commitment.
Slatted bed frame, car wheel rim and toy doll
In Berlin, a group of nine employees, equipped with kayaks and accessories from the NGO Green Kayak and Backstagetourism, got to work. They spent two hours collecting trash from the Spree River. In addition to plastic wrappings and clothing, spray cans and Styrofoam were collected from the water. The biggest objects found were a chair and a slatted bed frame.
In Cologne, 40 employees collected trash at the Poller Wiesen riverside park. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags and grippers from AWG Köln, they spent about two hours filling numerous bags. Sascha Kleinschmidt found the biggest object – a car wheel rim. The participants were also pretty amazed when Uli Nagel came back to the meeting point with a relatively well-preserved barbeque grill, as well as when Alina Ziervogel and Mandy Buchholz presented their find: a slightly tattered doll.
