In the U.S., the high-profile music show “That’s My Jam” by and with U.S. superstar Jimmy Fallon regularly scores excellent viewer ratings. Now RTL+ has secured the licensing rights for the musical TV sensation and is bringing “Thatʼs My Jam with Bill & Tom Kaulitz” to Germany as an RTL+ original. As indicated by the title, brothers/musicians Bill and Tom Kaulitz, internationally successful as Tokio Hotel, were recruited for the new six-part show. They will not only emcee the individual competitions in their usual entertaining manner, but will also each send a team into the ring as mentors. No date has yet been set for the show’s debut on RTL+.

Here's what happens on the show: In a total of five rounds, celebrity teams compete in a number of funny music and knowledge games. The aim is to secure victory by scoring as many points as possible in each round. The celebrities are accompanied by a live studio band during their musical stints. “Finally, the successful format from the USA is coming to Germany – and only on RTL+. It’s going to be completely absurd ...”, says Tom Kaulitz. His brother Bill adds, “Absurdly brilliant! The show is funny, crazy, and always good for a surprise. Crazy games, wild actions and the odd interesting musical note – this is a music show like none other.”

‘Our absolute first choice as hosts’

Frauke Neeb, Director of Programming at RTL+, said: “We are so excited to bring the ‘That’s My Jam’ to Germany with SEO Entertainment. This unique music show combines music and entertainment in a whole new way, making it just right for RTL+. This is also true for our absolute first choice as hosts, Bill and Tom Kaulitz, who regularly demonstrate their musical skills and entertainer qualities both with their band Tokio Hotel and in their podcast.” Ana Langenberg, Senior Vice President Format Sales & Production, NBC Universal Formats, commented: “‘That’s My Jam’ has proven to be the perfect format for local adaptations. Having successfully launched versions in the UK and France last year, we are delighted that German audiences will now be able to enjoy the show. Bill and Tom Kaulitz are the perfect hosts for this show, and we are delighted to be working with our partners at SEO Entertainment and RTL+ once again.”

“Thatʼs My Jam with Bill & Tom Kaulitz” is produced by SEO Entertainment, commissioned by RTL+. Markus Böhlke, Executive Producer RTL+, and Alex Mueller, Head of In-house Production Multichannel, are the supervising editors. The original version of the award-winning format “Thatʼs My Jam” is hosted by U.S. superstar Jimmy Fallon and produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio in collaboration with Fallon’s production company Electric Hotdog. The first season reached more than 250 million viewers in linear broadcasts and on digital platforms. The original version returns for a second season on NBC on March 7.
