Gigi Levy-Weiss Elected to Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA

The Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA Annual General Meeting today elected the Israeli entrepreneur and investor Gigi Levy-Weiss (44) as a new member of the company’s Supervisory Board. Gigi Levy-Weiss is an angel investor in numerous Internet and technology startups and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the U.S. Hartmut Ostrowski, former CEO of Bertelsmann, and Lars Rebien Sørensen, President and CEO of Novo Nordisk, are stepping down from the Board as planned.

Christoph Mohn, Chairman of the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board, said: “I am very pleased about Gigi Levy-Weiss being elected and look forward to our future cooperation on the Supervisory Board. Mr. Levy-Weiss has a high degree of international proficiency in the Internet and technology sector and will greatly enrich the discussions in the supervisory panel with his expertise. On behalf of all members of the Supervisory Board, I would also like to thank Hartmut Ostrowski and Lars Rebien Sørensen. By contributing in an outstanding manner to the strategic decisions made at Bertelsmann, they have both brought the company forward.”
